Problem with mp3 trough HDMI
Hi,
The Admin suggested I should open a new topic about this problem, so I did
I have noticed that when I play some mp3 files the sound is distorted. When I play them again, the distortion is gone.
My HMR600-W is connected via HDMI to an Onkyo Tx SR606 receiver. Also, the distortion goes away when I unplug the hdmi cable and plug it in again during the song.
The changelog of FW 505 states:
Changelog no oficial:
A translation for entry in red would be: Digital output for MP3 problem fixed. Can anyone confirm that this is in fact the same problem I have?
I currently have FW 505 installed, but no solution to the problem... So maybe it's not a FW bug...
Anyone has the same problem (and/or solution)?
* I dont speak spanish, nor italian (only dutch, french and english)) but I understand some of it...
Ciao

English below!

So as you described, it is hard to believe that it depends on the HDMI cable.
I think it's easier to believe of a problem of data flow through the digital connection.
Something that prevent or CPU too busy doing something else.
Last firmware releases are rather heavy (GUI and other)...
Have you ever tried to disable the Samba, FTP and Torrent servers in the Network menu?
Regards

Re: Problem with mp3 trough HDMI
I turned off the FTP server and the sambaserver, Torrent client was already turned off. I will play some music and see how it goes.
The strange thing is that the distortion only occurs when playing mp3 files. I have never encountered the problem when playing FLAC, AC3, or mpeg (from movies)...

Re: Problem with mp3 trough HDMI
I'm back with the testresults:
Everything turned off (FTP server, Samba server, Bittorrent client):
Played approx. 25 songs: no distortion
Samba server turned on:
Played 2 songs: got distortion on the second song...
So it is indeed a problem with the samba server.
Does anyone know about a solution, of should I just wait for the next firmware release and hope it is going to be fixed?
Thanks
